15 Best Nintendo Games of 2015
5. Xenoblade Chronicles X
Just in time for 2015, Xenoblade Chronicles X makes its long awaited debut on the WiiU. Introducing a vast and rich open world, the flora and fauna are absolutely immersive and believable. Creatures behave in their own unique way, and the day and night cycles throughout the game also alter certain behaviors and adds new and far more dangerous ones. With the ability to create your own protagonist you are to search the vast maps and find remnants of humankind stored in the Lifehold. Like most JRPG’s you can take on teams of various characters to take along with you. The combat is engaging and features a more active-style turn-based combat system. Though the story and dialog hold the game back at times from being something special, the simple combat and exploration more than make up for its shortcomings. And with enough fortitude and patience, you could start using the hulking mechs called Skells, that were the Xeno series mainstay. Fans of the JRPG genre are certainly well treated almost to the traditional sense, but also accessible for WiiU owners looking to experience a the JRPG model for the first time. (Aaron Santos)
