The Future of ‘Pokémon Go’: What can we expect?

Following the domination of the mobile apps market, Pokémon Go has been an absolute sensation amongst a global audience. With downloads well into their millions, the app has made Pokémon trainers out of all of us. So, now that the app is in full swing, what can we expect for the future? Here are our thoughts…
Bug and glitch fixes…
A common question and frustration amongst Pokémon Go players is “will I ever stop having to restart my app?!” The answer to this will most likely be yes, but it may take some time. Even Niantic themselves couldn’t have expected how well Pokémon Go would be received by the world, the sheer amount of traffic alone causing problems amongst other issues. Also with every new app, there is going to be a few glitches, which should be fixed with time. So, while it may be frustrating that you didn’t catch yourself a Psyduck, the frustration will be over eventually.
When will I be able to trade with my friends?
While the feature of trading isn’t yet in the game, it will be made available in the future, confirmed by Pokémon Go themselves. Our guess would be that trading isn’t yet available in order to give all players an even playing field on which to start their Pokémon Go adventure. Eventually we will see the implementation of multiple features and items, not just trading, but talk of master balls and other key features from the original games.
Where are those legendries hiding?
It recently came to everyone’s knowledge, that data files for legendary Pokémon and everyone’s favourite Pokémon, Ditto, were found in Pokémon Go. This leads us to believe legendary Pokémon will eventually be introduced, as to when and how this information still alludes us. Speculation suggests these Pokémon will be available through a possible large public event or as a reward for attaining certain achievements within the app? But all in all, your guess is as good as ours…
All in all, once any server issues are fixed, there looks to be a bright and exciting future for Pokémon Go, with new features and additions to the game on their way. All we have to do is sit tight and keep Pokémon hunting! We’ll see you out there and as always, take care while you game…
