You Got Simpsons in My God of War

The internet can be a beautiful place sometimes, and one of the best things that has happened to video games since the dawn of the web has been unauthorized mods. Whether they’re putting Thomas the Tank Engine in Resident Evil 2 or Terry Crews into Left 4 Dead, the absurd mods that folks come up with in their spare time never fail to entertain.

Today’s brilliant example comes from the YouTube channel of ToastedShoes, which features a totally ridiculous version of God of War where Homer and Bart take on the roles of Kratos and Atreus. Complete with some of the most hilarious sound bites from The Simpsons to make the mash-up work, the 16-minute video clip sees Homer putting poor Marge on the funeral pyre, chopping down a tree with his Wonder Bat, and all manner of other goofy hijinks that combine the two worlds of Springfield and Asgard.

The funniest addition, however, comes in the form of Ned Flanders showing up as Baldur to fight Homer outside of his cabin. It helps considerably that no one could possibly be any less terrifying than Ned Flanders, but you suddenly find yourself taking him a lot more seriously when he’s trying to beat you to death in a snowy field while telling you to read your bible. We’ve embedded the amazing video above in case you want to watch it in its entirety, and just trust us that you probably do.
