“Some stories just feel better under an autumn sky.”

September is here, which means we are officially in the fall season! But have you updated your watchlist?

If you haven’t, here are some anime we’ve curated for you to binge this season and enjoy all those cozy, chilly autumnal vibes!

Natsume’s Book of Friends:

Let’s begin with a strong one! And what better anime to watch than one that gives you the comfort and warmth of autumn along with the spookiness of October and Halloween?

This anime combines the best of both worlds, and if you haven’t already watched it, you should definitely start watching it this fall season!

Natsume’s Book of Friends revolves around Takashi Natsume, a boy who has the unusual ability to see yokai.

After coming across his grandmother Reiko’s mysterious “Book of Friends,” he begins returning the names of spirits trapped inside it.

What makes this anime so special is that it isn’t simply about supernatural creatures and horror stuff. Many of its stories are quiet, emotional, and surprisingly wholesome.

Set in a peaceful countryside, with a colorful autumn scenery, and gentle supernatural atmosphere make this an anime that feels like a warm cup of tea on a rainy autumn evening.

Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits:

Imagine checking into a traditional Japanese inn… except all the guests are supernatural beings sounds awesome right? I bet it do That’s the core magic that you will experience of Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits.

The story revolves around Aoi, a young woman who can see ayakashi (Yes, again unusual power to be held). After being taken (basically kidnapped) to the hidden world of spirits, she finds her way working at a mysterious inn.

What you will get to watch is delicious-looking food, traditional Japanese scenery, supernatural creatures, and of course there is romance and trust me it’s a super sweet one. One that can melt your heart in an instant.

The series portrays the kind of cozy fantasy atmosphere that feels like a perfect recipe for autumn. It’s basically comfort food in anime form with yokai. So, don’t sleep on this one for sure!

The Ancient Magus’ Bride:

Only few anime capture the feeling of autumn magic quite like The Ancient Magus’ Bride because it connects you to the story and characters’ emotions magically.

The story begins with Chise Hatori, a young woman whose life changes after she meets Elias Ainsworth, a mysterious non-human mage.

It beautifully portrays a magical forest, strange creatures, ancient folklore, and mesmerizing seasonal vibes that give the series an enchanting atmosphere that feels perfect for chilly evenings with a warm cup of coffee with a dash of cinnamon powder on it.

Beyond its fantasy setting, the anime explores darker and deeper themes of loneliness, identity, belonging, and discovering what it means to have a home and a person who loves you for what you are.

Lastly, If you love atmospheric fantasy with a touch of mystery, The Ancient Magus’ Bride will be an excellent addition to your fall watchlist.

So, that’s all for this list! If you need more fall anime recommendations, stay tuned to our site for Part 2. Until then, happy watching and happy fall! 🍁
