NXpress Nintendo Podcast 85: ‘Donkey Kong Country’ / Nintendo Switch

In 1994, Rare recast a classic Nintendo villain as the titular hero Donkey Kong Country and gave him a unique set of skills and his very own sidekick, Diddy Kong. Created using the latest state-of-the-art 3D technology, the pre-rendered graphics used for the characters and locations made the game stand out from the crowd when in arrived on the SNES; and in some ways, acted as a tech demo for what the SNES could accomplish in the 32-bit era. This week we begin our year-long spotlight on Donkey Kong with a review of the game with special guest, Johnny Pederson. But before we do, we couldn’t help but not talk about the Nintendo Switch, recent rumours and our hopes for E3. All this and more!
