Sega Sues Social Media User for Harassing Employee
Sega is making headlines by taking legal action against a social media user accused of harassing an employee. This move follows Bungie’s example of combating online toxicity. Sega’s decision emphasizes the company’s commitment to protecting its employees from online abuse.
In a press release (thanks Eurogamer), Sega stated that they offered the individual a chance to stop their behavior. However, the slanderous acts continued. Consequently, Sega identified the culprit through a court order. The individual must now pay damages and remove the offensive content.

The exact location of the incident is unclear, but the press release, available in Japanese, suggests it occurred in Japan. Sega’s new “Customer Harassment Policy” aims to protect employees’ dignity and work environment. The policy strictly addresses violence, threats, and intimidation.
