NXpress Nintendo Podcast #180: ‘Fire Emblem: Three Houses’ and Keeping Up With So Many Games
Intelligent Systems’ excellent Fire Emblem: Three Houses has inevitably converted another NXpress host, and this week Rick tells fellow enthusiast Patrick and guy-missing-out Tim why he thinks this strategy RPG has a good shot at taking the top spot on his list of the year’s best games. Sure, we’ve already talked extensively about this latest entry in the series, but there’s always more to say. From Rick’s early adventures in Maddening mode to Patrick’s comparisons of his time spent with each house’s campaign, this opening segment provides a nice bow on our coverage of one of Nintendo’s best offerings of 2019.
After that, the guys get into a lengthy discussion of how each of them handle stretches like the Nintendo has lined up for the second half of the year, where it seems like one must-play game is released after another. When you can’t play everything, what do you play, and why? From low budgets to lack of time, there are plenty of reasons it’s tough to get to every major title that hits the shelves and eShop. Turns out that the guys each have a different approach, whether it’s sticking to tried-and-true franchises, specific genres, or trying as much as possible until something sticks. How about you?
Finally, Rick wraps things up with some brief second impressions of The Sinking City. For all this and more, have a listen!
