Xbox Cloud Gaming Welcomes Keyboard and Mouse
Xbox is now testing keyboard and mouse support on its Cloud Gaming platform. This update, aimed at enhancing user experience, introduces a more versatile way to play games on the cloud. Previously limited to controllers or touch controls, the addition of keyboard and mouse support opens up new gaming possibilities for Xbox users. Currently, this feature is available on Chrome and Edge browsers, as well as the Xbox app for PC.
The testing phase is part of the Alpha Skip-Ahead circle within the Xbox Insider program, which allows users to experience new features before their general release. Although still in the testing stage, a selection of games is now available to try with keyboard and mouse controls.

These games include popular titles such as Fortnite, available only on browsers, ARK Survival Evolved, Sea of Thieves, and Halo Infinite, among others. It’s important to note that during this phase, some games might display default controller interfaces, and keyboard and mouse functionality is limited to fullscreen mode.

The roll-out of this feature to the wider public is expected to take several weeks or months as it undergoes thorough testing across the various Insider program rings. This step ensures a smooth and optimized experience for all users upon official release. Xbox’s move to support keyboard and mouse controls reflects the company’s commitment to providing flexible and accessible gaming options, catering to the diverse preferences of its user base.
