Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Public Beta Cancelled to Prioritize September Release
Saber Interactive has decided to cancel the public beta test for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. The developers want to focus on optimizing the game for its full launch on September 9, 2024. The beta was initially planned for co-op mode and opened for registration in August 2023. However, the game’s launch was delayed from winter 2023 to the latter half of 2024.
The developers explained on Steam that running a beta now would divert attention from polishing the game. They aim to ensure the best possible experience at launch. Although this news might disappoint some fans, Saber Interactive offered a limited Bolt Pistol skin as compensation to those who registered for the beta before June 28, 2024.
The game will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 follows Ultramarines Space Marine Lieutenant Titus, now voiced by Clive Standen. The game was originally set to launch in winter 2023, but the release was pushed back to September 2024.
