Skybound Seeks Crowdfunding for New Invincible AAA Game
Skybound Entertainment has launched a crowdfunding campaign to fund the creation of a new AAA game based on the Invincible comic series.
Founded in 2010 by Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead and Invincible, and David Alpert, Skybound initially focused on comics. It has since expanded into film and games. The company completed The Walking Dead’s final season from Telltale and published console versions of games like The Big Con and Slime Rancher.
The team at Skybound, comprising about 30 industry veterans, aims to expand further to develop a high-budget video game based on Invincible. The comic has already been adapted into an animated series on Amazon Prime and a visual novel, Invincible Presents: Atom Eve.

Key figures in the project include Chris Paulson as the publishing director, formerly with Activision-Blizzard, and Patrick Gilmore, the executive vice president of production, previously with Amazon Games.

Republic, the platform hosting the campaign, allows small investors to contribute, starting at a minimum of $100. In 2023, Skybound raised $18 million in an earlier round, including venture capital investors like Skydance Interactive, creators of Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra by Amy Hennig.
As of now, the campaign has already surpassed its initial $50,000 goal, reaching nearly $450,000. The funding window remains open until April 29.
