Game Boys, Ep. 101: Battle Royale Boys Pt. 1- ‘PUBG’
Arena shooters, shared-world shooters, high mobility, and hero shooters, the shooter genre is full of titles that marked the start of a new trend, some still prevalent, others left behind in favor of the latest new concept. Most prevalent today is the battle royale shooter, popularized by the topic of this week’s Game Boy episode, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, but far from limited to that title. This week and next the Game Boys seek not only to review two of the hottest games around, starting with PUBG before moving on to Fortnite: Battle Royale, but also to decide which of the two rival titles is better.
