Eight Studios Collaborate on Upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

The much-anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to release later this year, with a total of eight studios involved in its development. This follows the trend from last year’s release, but Activision has added another studio this time.

Activision announced the game recently, with more details expected at the COD Direct event on June 9. The main developers, Treyarch and Raven Software, are leading the project with support from several other studios.

The support studios include Sledgehammer Games, Infinity Ward, Beenox, High Moon Studios, Activision Shanghai, and Demonware. This collaboration ensures that the Call of Duty franchise receives the extensive resources it needs, given its significant place in the gaming world.

The involvement of multiple studios isn’t new for the franchise. Last year’s Modern Warfare 3 also saw the contribution of seven developers. However, the stakes are higher this year with the recent acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft. Black Ops 6 will be available on Game Pass from day one, expanding its reach to millions of players.

Despite the collective effort, the previous Modern Warfare 3 received criticism for its recycled content and subpar campaign, raising concerns about the quality of Black Ops 6. Activision aims to deliver a polished experience, leveraging the combined talents of these eight studios.
