Avalanche Studios Gears Up for New AAA Open-World Game
Avalanche Studios, known for its blockbuster open-world games like Just Cause and Mad Max, is reportedly gearing up for an exciting new project. The studio is currently hiring for what is described as a “cutting-edge AAA open-world” game, stirring speculation among fans about the potential for a new installment in the Just Cause series.
Although there has been no official announcement regarding Just Cause 5, the developers are actively seeking a Senior Gameplay Animator and a Senior Producer to contribute to this unnamed AAA title. Job listings suggest that the new hire will focus on character and NPC animations, hinting at the scope and detail being poured into this project.

The news comes after a long wait since Just Cause 4, released in 2018, leaving fans eager for more of the series’ high-octane action. The studio’s last major release, Contraband, was announced back in 2021, and little information has surfaced since then. This new project could potentially be linked to that or could be an entirely new venture under the Just Cause banner.

While the community remains hopeful for Just Cause 5, Avalanche Studios suggests keeping expectations in check, as it might be some time before any significant news surfaces regarding their current projects. For now, fans of the series and open-world enthusiasts have exciting developments to look forward to as Avalanche Studios continues to expand its portfolio with ambitious new games.
