The Super Mario game series celebrates its 30 year anniversary today and with it, Nintendo has released the much-anticipated Super Mario Maker, the latest game in the popular franchise that allows players to create their own levels with the Wii U GamePad controller. For those of you who listen to our Nintendo podcast, you would have heard us talk aboutSuper Mario Maker’s Mystery Mushroom which allows Mario to take the form of other characters from games such as Splatoon, Animal Crossing, The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Sonic, and so, so many more. There is an incredible 100 unique costumes and most are easily unlockable with amiibo. But don’t worry, not every single costume is amiibo-based and you don’t need amiibo to unlock each.
