Bobby Kotick Targets TikTok Acquisition Post Activision
Bobby Kotick, a prominent figure in the gaming industry and former CEO of Activision Blizzard, is reportedly planning to acquire the popular social media platform TikTok. According to a report by Wall Street Journal, Kotick has shown interest in purchasing the video-sharing app, especially in the wake of a sudden bill that could lead to TikTok’s ban in the United States.

The report suggests that Kotick and any potential partners would need to invest “hundreds of billions” of dollars to secure TikTok. This comes after months of relative silence following Kotick’s departure from the helm of the gaming giant. In the United States, new legislation is being proposed that would require ByteDance, the Beijing-based organization owning TikTok, to divest or ban the app used by nearly 170 million Americans. If passed, this could be a devastating blow to the Chinese company.
