Midgard: A World Frozen in Time
Not exactly a winter wonderland but beautiful either way. Midgard is where it starts. It is Kratos and Atreus’s home base. Over time, this realm has drastically changed because of Fimbulwinter. It is heavily covered in ice and snow. Long gone are the days when the forests were lush with greenery. Frozen landscapes have now replaced almost every inch of the realm.
Midgard is deserted now. The people that once roamed the land are now buried under layers of ice and harsh winters. You’ll still need to watch out. Formidable monsters that aren’t bothered by the cold now occupy this realm.
Alfheim: Land of the Elves
Once you reach Alfheim, it will stand as a huge contrast to Midgard. From wastelands to fantasy realms, Alfheim is host to enchanting light phenomena. You’ll also witness many fierce battles between Light and Dark Elves. Alfheim’s otherworldly and ethereal vibes will capture you if you appreciate these aesthetics.
Make sure to visit this realm’s hidden nooks and crannies. You might just find treasures and you’ll come to learn more about the lore of this fantasy realm and its magical inhabitants.
Svartalfheim: Dwarven Craft and Ingenuity
In Svartalfheim, the realm of the Dwarves, the landscape has a very industrial look. This realm is filled with intricate machinery. You’ll also find a plethora of labyrinthine caves that will add levels of intrigue to your adventure. You should pay close attention when visiting this realm. You might just spot a hidden workshop or two if you do.
In these workshops, you’ll be able to upgrade your gear. The inhabitants of this realm, aka the Dwarves, are largely famous for their unmatched smithing skills. You’ll be in for a treat.
Vanaheim: The Realm of Mystery
Vanaheim is shrouded in mystery—a jungle-like realm where nature runs wild and magic is abundant. It is the home to Vanir Gods. This realm has so many secrets, almost every living creature in it might be harboring one or two. If you’re up to taking up some fun side quests, this realm is for you. By venturing on these quests, you might find out more about Vanir’s role in the cosmic balance.
Muspelheim: The Trial by Fire
Do you like challenges? Do you crave to conquer obstacles? You’re in the right realm if you’ve arrived at Muspelheim. It is called the realm of fire for its fiery wastelands. Filled with volcanoes, this realm is lava hot and you’ll encounter many enemies. You’ll get some of the best loot in Muspelheim, so survive your battles to reap your rewards.
Niflheim: A Realm Transformed
Since Kratos’s last visit to Niflheim, it has changed drastically. Once shrouded in mist, most of the dense fog has disappeared. You can now find the Aesir Prison Wreckage and a combat arena where you can train and much more. It is surely a realm transformed.
Asgard: The Final Destination
The realm of the Aesir Gods is Kratos and Atreus’s final destination. Be prepared to face epic confrontations and brutal battles. Tread carefully and be brave in Asgard. It is a beautiful realm but it is also equally deadly. Be prepared to be tested.
Jotunheim: The Land of Giants
Giants roam Jotunheim but a sense of loss crowds the air in this realm. While the landscapes are awe-inspiring, the realm serves as a reminder of the toll that the war has taken on the giants. You’ll uncover lore and knowledge about the Giants’ backstory by exploring this realm.
Helheim: The Realm of the Dead
