Ubisoft Bets Big on Star Wars Outlaws with Record Marketing Budget
Ubisoft is betting big on its upcoming game, Star Wars Outlaws. The company has allocated the largest marketing budget in its history for this title. The game is set to release on August 30, 2024, across multiple platforms including PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
CEO Yves Guillemot shared these insights during Ubisoft’s latest earnings call. He emphasized the high expectations surrounding the game, which stems from the strong positive sentiment in the gaming community. Guillemot said, “What we are factoring in is a strong launch for Star Wars Outlaws. That’s the fact that it’s among the most awaited games of the industry this year and reflecting a really strong positive community sentiment, and also the fact that we are coming with the biggest marketing campaign ever so far for a Ubisoft game.”

This marketing push is crucial for Ubisoft as they aim to capitalize on the Star Wars brand’s global appeal. The game promises an open-world experience set in the Star Wars universe, which has already garnered significant attention from fans and critics alike.

The substantial investment in marketing highlights Ubisoft’s confidence in Star Wars Outlaws. This move also comes at a time when the gaming industry is highly competitive, with numerous high-profile releases scheduled around the same time. By ensuring maximum visibility, Ubisoft hopes to capture a significant share of the market.
Pre-orders for the game are already seeing strong numbers, and digital deluxe editions are topping charts on platforms like PlayStation Network. This early interest indicates that Star Wars Outlaws could be a major hit for Ubisoft.
