Ubisoft Developing Rainbow Six Siege 2, Leak Reveals
A new leak has revealed that Ubisoft is developing Rainbow Six Siege 2. The game has reportedly been in development for over four years, with the team now nearing completion. This information comes from a developer who claims to be working on the project.
The original Rainbow Six Siege, which has been popular for nearly a decade, continues to receive updates. However, many fans have been eagerly awaiting a new installment. According to the leaker (thank Tech4Gamers), Ubisoft is using the Snowdrop engine for the sequel, the same engine used in XDefiant. The switch was necessary due to significant issues with the original game’s code.

The sequel will also feature a new anti-cheat system developed by Ubisoft. This is expected to address long-standing player concerns about cheating in the game. Ubisoft initially planned to announce Rainbow Six Siege 2 at the Six Invitational 2024. However, the reveal has been delayed to the Six Invitational 2025 in Boston.

Rainbow Six Siege continues to average over 50k players daily. Despite this, the game’s outdated engine has led to increasing calls for a new version. The leaker noted that nearly the entire development team has moved to the new project, with only a small group remaining on the original game.
