The Best Companions in Hogwarts Legacy
From students to professors, these are the best companions Hogwarts Legacy has to offer.
The hit Harry Potter video game, Hogwarts Legacy, is a ginormous and magical open world adventure, filled with many compelling characters. Among them are a handful of characters that will join players on their adventures through Hogwarts and its surrounding areas. These characters mostly come in the form of students as players complete numerous quest lines for certain characters, unlocking new items and becoming closer friends with their fellow companions. Each companion offers unique quest lines that are all a blast to play. So without further ado, here are the best companions in Hogwarts Legacy.
6. Amit Thakkar

We first meet the Ravenclaw student, Amit Thakkar in Astronomy class, where we quickly learn that our companion has an admiration for stargazing, allowing the player and Amit to bond over Amit teaching us how to use astronomy tables, who even gifts players his telescope. As knowledgeable, and interesting as Amit is, however, the Ravenclaw student isn’t the greatest fighter as players will often find Amit fairly useless in battle, and is better off hearing about your dangerous ventures in the deadly open world.
Likewise, Amit doesn’t join the player for many quests compared to the other characters on this list, and the quests that Amit does join you on are relatively lackluster.
5. Professor Fig

The wise Professor Eleazar Fig, helps the player throughout the many quests in the main story when discovering the secrets of Ancient Magic. Professor Fig is the first character players meet and we quickly grow an attachment to him as he acts as the players mentor, teaching us the basics of the game. With Fig at their side, players form an instant attachment to the skilled wizard, and form a relationship very reminiscent of Dumbledore and Harry Potter. Professor Fig sadly met his gut-wrenching end, after helping players unravel the mystery of Ancient Magic. Professor Fig, you will be missed.
4. Natsai Onai

As a Gryffindor, Natsai Onai is unsurprisingly a kind-hearted and selfless character whose strong sense of justice leads players on a deadly questline with her. Natty is an incredibly powerful witch, who after attending the largest wizarding school in the world, Uagadou, Natty doesn’t even need to use her wand to cast spells.
Natty’s questline is highly entertaining and riveting, as Natty’s deeply personal mission for justice sends players on deadly missions, battling waves of Dark Wizards. We soon learn, however, that Natty is also an Animagus when she shows her bravery by sacrificing herself for the player. Although she doesn’t die, her saving the player is unforgettable.
3. Ominis Gaunt

Ominis has one of the best character arcs in the game, and for a Slytherin, Ominis has a lot of heart and ambition. Ominis’ beliefs make his house affiliation feel rather off, which does however make for a far more compelling companion. As an avid non-believer in Dark Wizards, Ominis often finds himself butting heads with his longtime friend, Sebastian Sallow.
Over the course of the game, players will learn about Ominis’ tragic childhood and the evil nature of the Gaunt family, who play a big part in Harry Potter lore.
2. Poppy Sweeting

Poopy Sweeting, is a compassionate and admiring character who we simply can’t get enough of. Her fascination and love for beasts are endearing and are one of the many reasons why we love her. We first meet the Hufflepuff student during beasts class and from there she takes us on many epic quests, as we meet new beasts and rescue dragons. Her determination to put a stop the growing poacher trend is admirable as she puts her life at risk for the greater good for the whimsical beasts roaming Hogwarts Legacy.
1. Sebastian Sallow

The internet sensation and Slytherin heart-throb, Sebastian Sallow, is a complex, loveable and deeply emotional character, whose tragic and compelling character arc made players everywhere fall head over heels for him. Sebastian’s intentions are good, as players embark on quests to save Sebastian’s sister from a horrific curse, by any means necessary. Only this means exploring the sinister and most dangerous aspects of the Wizarding World.
Along the way, Sebastian offers to teach players the Unforgivable Curses, which makes his storyline incredibly important for those who wish to learn them. Sebastian’s arc is morally gray as Sebastian sadly turns fully to the Dark Arts, eventually killing his own uncle. Whilst we may not agree with Sebastian’s choices, we admire his heart.
