NXpress Nintendo Podcast #39: ‘Perfect Dark’ and our 16 Predictions
Few games were more eagerly anticipated than Rare’s unofficial sequel to GoldenEye 007 back in the year 2000. This week we continue our month-long spotlight on Rare by discussing what makes Perfect Dark one of the best games released on the Nintendo 64. Perfect Dark isn’t groundbreaking like its predecessor – but it takes everything that makes GoldenEye 007 so good and makes it even better. Perfect Dark has a compelling story (partly based on Blade Runner and Ghost in the Shell); a killer soundtrack; brooding atmosphere, a great protagonist; and, an immensely enjoyable multiplayer mode. But before we get to Joanna Dark, we address the 20-year anniversary plans for Pokémon and reveal our 2016 Nintendo predictions. All this and a David Bowie tribute!
