Rabbit & Bear Studios Announces Plans for a Sequel to Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
Rabbit & Bear Studios has officially announced their plans for a sequel to the popular game, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. The announcement was made during a Reddit AMA session featuring three key studio members: Junko Kawano, Osamu Komuta, and Junichi Murakami.
When asked about the potential for a sequel, the team expressed enthusiastic confirmation. “Absolutely! The sequel is already in progress. It’s a bittersweet project without Murayama, but we discussed many ideas with him. We are committed to honoring Murayama’s legacy and cherishing his final work. We hope the game receives widespread support.”

The game’s narrative continues to draw from the legacy of Yoshitaka Murayama, the creator of the Suikoden series and scriptwriter for Eiyuden Chronicle, who passed away in February due to illness complications.
Reflecting on Murayama’s influence, the developers shared their memories. “No matter Murayama’s mood or health, he was always happy seeing the joy and excitement of his fans. He truly loved his supporters.”

They also highlighted Murayama’s approach to game design, noting his reluctance to rely on nostalgia or past successes to define new projects. He always aimed to create something innovative and original.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is set to launch on April 23 on platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It will be available from day one on Xbox Game Pass for both PC and consoles.
