Pokémon Scarlet & Violet: Gimmighoul to Gholdengo Evolution Guide
Hello Pokémon Fans and Gamers, and welcome to our comprehensive guide on evolving Gimmighoul into Gholdengo in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet! In this article, we will delve into the step-by-step process and provide valuable insights on how you can master this alluring evolution, ensuring your team becomes an unbeatable force in the diverse world of Pokémon. Without further ado, let’s begin!
What exactly is Gimmighoul?
Gimmighoul, as the name suggests, is a Ghost-type Pokémon in the form of a chest. It has the special Ability named “Rattled.”According to its Pokédex entry, Gimmighoul was firstly introduced inside a treasure chest around 1,500 years ago. It has a very unique ability to drain the life force of those who attempt to steal the treasure it guards. So, it’s like a watch dog or guard who never lets intruders touch his precious treasure.
What exactly is Gholdengo?
As we already mentioned, Gholdengo is the evolved version of Gimmighoul. It is also a very rare Pokémon, popularly known as a “Coin Entity.” It possesses the Steel and Ghost forms and has an Ability called “Good as Gold.”
This special Ability grants Gholdengo a body made entirely of solid gold, providing immunity to status moves from other Pokémon, such as Defog, making it literally unbeatable and hard to defeat.
The Pokédex entry introduces Gholdengo as having a body made of 1,000 coins, just like a cold mine. The best part is you can also be friends with him because Gholdengo loves to interact with new people and is quite friendly in nature.
Everything you need to know about Gimmighoul’s evolution into Gholdengo:
Gimmighoul is a brand new Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. It is said that the Pokémon Company had given a lot of attention to this new Pokémon launch named Gimmighoul by releasing its own special teaser website before showing it off in the game. It’s a really big deal for any franchise as big as Pokémon.
If we talk about its evolution from Gimmighoul to Gholdengo in the series and in the game, we most often see that Pokémon get evolved through hardcore battles with other Pokémon and sometimes by gaining an extra amount of XP. However, this theory won’t work for you if you want to evolve Gimmighoul into your dream Pokémon, Gholdengo.
This unique Pokémon, renowned for its treasure obsession, has two base forms: one that is holding a coin and the other concealed within a chest. Despite its chest form, it can be caught and evolved.
How to evolve Gimmighoul into Gholdengo: Step by Step Guide:
Now, let’s come to our main question: how can you evolve Gimmighoul into Gholdengo?
To evolve Gimmighoul into Gholdengo, you have to collect a lot of Gimmighoul Coins (number mentioned above). Below are easy-to-follow steps for you:
Step 1:
First things first, you need to get 999 Gimmighoul Coins, and this is not negotiable. You can get these coins by encountering both normal and chest forms of Gimmighoul and either communicating with them or battling them, whichever you prefer. But even if you fight with them, you can’t catch the normal form. These Pokémon are usually found near ruins, bridges, and signs. After you encounter one of them or, if you’re lucky, win battles against them, they will run away and leave behind some coins for you.
Step 2:
Chest Gimmighouls are rare to find because they have fixed locations where they can be seen, and you can always catch or defeat them, and they will provide you with more coins. Sounds great, right? But once they’re gone, they’re gone forever, and they rarely come back after dropping coins. So try to get as many as you can before Gimmighouls leave their locations.
After following the procedure in step 1, you will have gathered 999 coins. Now comes the best part of our journey: all you have to do is level up your Gimmighoul one more time, regardless of your current level.Simply following this process will trigger its evolution into a Gholdengo.
But remember that when you use those 999 coins for the evolution, they will be gone forever, so use them wisely. If in the future you desire to evolve another Gimmighoul, you have to repeat the procedure to get the coins again!
Is it worth evolving Gimmighoul into Gholdengo?
As we mentioned, Gholdengo is quite rare among Ghost-type Pokémon. As we already know, it combines both the Steel type with Ghost, which is quite unique to see in the series in the first place.
This dual ability brings higher defense and also provides special defense to Gholdengo compared to typical Ghost-type Gimmighoul, as well as decent attack and excellent special attack. The only drawback comes here with the lower-than-average HP, which may cause some difficulty but not much.
Gholdengo can also easily learn a diverse range of moves, including Power Gem, Dazzling Gleam, Charge Beam, and Flash Cannon. Its Steel moves and rare typing make it really effective against Fairy-type Pokémon, which are also rare to find.
Wrapping Up:
Lastly, I would like to say that having both of these Pokémon in your team will be a important step toward completing your Pokédex. But still, there are many more Pokémon out there to catch and get to know. You have to keep an eye out for them and see how far you can go with your adventure in finding the rarest Pokémon.
The best part is you can always play Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet versions on the Nintendo Switch. So, don’t stop here. Start your evolution journey and see how strong your Pokémon team can become, and stay tuned to get more exciting Pokémon updates. Thanks for reading and happy hunting!
