It’s that magical pre-E3 time of year again, a period filled with excitement and anticipation for the latest games that will be unveiled at the industry’s largest convention. With the Switch off and running, this year promises to be a big one for Nintendo, but will they pack their digital presentation with stunning surprises, or play it relatively safe by concentrating on what’s already been confirmed? This week the guys share some of their E3 predictions, from lowered expectations involving joy-con skins to pie in the sky hopes (Retro…please let us know!). No one wants a broken heart, but we must dare to dream.

Before that, Rick gives Tim and Patrick his thoughts on NBA Playgrounds for the Switch. If you’re looking for arcade, NBA Jam-style hoops, this may be your best bet. Also, the hosts discuss the latest Nintendo Direct focusing on ARMS. The game is starting to shape up now that it’s been fleshed out a bit, with more fighters and a bevy of modes, but has the new info changed our initial impressions? For all this and more, have a listen!

The NXpress is a weekly podcast hosted at NXpresspodcast.com in which we discuss all things Nintendo. We stay clear from in-depth game strategies and keep things light. There’s plenty of nostalgia and feedback that will resonate with vintage game collectors; meanwhile modern games are sprinkled in and each week our show revolves around a central theme.
