Hellblade 2 to Run at 30 FPS on Consoles
Ninja Theory’s upcoming title, Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga, will operate on Xbox Series X and S consoles at 30 frames per second (FPS). This decision showcases the capabilities of Unreal Engine 5, the game’s development platform, although it means console players will experience a lower frame rate.
According to a report by German outlet GamePro, the game, exclusive to Xbox and PC, aims to offer a “cinematic experience” with this frame rate. While PC players can enjoy up to 60 FPS, the console version’s focus on cinematic quality has led to a limited frame rate.
The GamePro preview highlighted that the game’s combat and pacing remain unaffected by the frame rate. However, it might disappoint some fans. The technical reasons for this limitation are not yet clear.

In related news, Tameem Antoniades, co-founder of Ninja Theory, has left the studio. The game now has three creative directors: Dan Attwell (environmental art director), Mark Slater-Tunstill (visual effects director), and David García (audio director).
Despite these changes, the game’s ambition to deliver a rich cinematic experience remains undiminished, promising an engaging adventure for its players.
