Amazon Games Opens First European Studio, Led by Former Ubisoft Director
Amazon Games has announced the launch of a new video game studio in Bucharest, Romania. This marks Amazon’s first game development studio in Europe. The new Bucharest team joins other Amazon Games locations in Orange County, Montreal, San Diego, and Seattle.
Cristian Pana, a former managing director at Ubisoft Bucharest, will lead the new studio. Pana brings over 20 years of experience in the gaming industry, having worked on popular titles like Far Cry, The Division, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

Pana expressed his excitement about joining Amazon Games, saying, “I’m thrilled to join Amazon Games at a time when the team is actively building across an exciting roadmap. I’ve built and led outstanding teams in the past, and I know this area of Europe is a hot spot for some of the very best talent in gaming.”

Amazon Games is set to publish the next Tomb Raider game from Crystal Dynamics. Additionally, Amazon recently placed a series order for a Tomb Raider TV adaptation by Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
