NXpress Nintendo Podcast 247: Gameboy Games On Switch, No More Heroes III, and Hoa Review
This week on NXpress, we share our initial impressions of No More Heroes III and speculate on the rumors of Gameboy games coming to Switch.
This week on the NXpress Nintendo Podcast, Cameron Daxon, Marc Kaliroff, and Campbell Gill dive right into all the incredible possibilities and harsh realities that the Big N could have in store as we head into the final quarter of the year. While it’s all but confirmed that Nintendo will present a new Direct this month, what could be revealed? Will we see the much-rumored addition of Gameboy and Gameboy Color titles to the Nintendo Switch Online service? Could we get glimpses of hotly anticipated titles like Breath of the Wild 2 or Project Triangle Strategy? While disappointment is inevitable, the hosts discuss all the options for classic games and all-new releases that could be shown off soon.
The show takes an avant-garde turn in the next segment, as Cameron and Campbell celebrate the auteuristic genius of developer Suda51 by discussing the cult classic No More Heroes and its newly-released sequel, No More Heroes III. Whether you’ve been playing Suda51’s creations since he first developed a following with Killer7 on the Gamecube or are only just getting into his work, there’s plenty to appreciate in Suda’s distinctively satirical punk-rock aesthetic, especially in the otaku assassin action of No More Heroes. Campbell closes things out on a more wholesome note with a review of Hoa, a platformer whose beautiful graphics and serene atmosphere earn it a place among the year’s very best indies.
