NXpress 293: Kirby’s Dream Buffet Reaction + Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course!
The new Kirby game looks cute. Unrelated: water is wet.
Ready for another mouthful? This week on the NXpress Nintendo Podcast, Cameron Daxon, Marc Kaliroff, and Campbell Gill react to the jaw-dropping news that not only is there going to be a new Kirby game soon, but it’s also set to be the most adorable game of the year. With Kirby’s Dream Buffet being announced over Twitter on a random Tuesday morning, it’s up to the gang to pick apart every detail of the announcement trailer, theorize what eldritch horrors might await in this Fall Guys-esque multiplayer bash, and predict the exact date and time it will release on the Switch eShop. Kirby fans are eating well this year!
But the buffet doesn’t stop there, as Marc serves up a delicious last course…Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course, to be precise! 2017’s Cuphead was beloved for its brutal difficulty and beautiful style, and its ambitious DLC expansion delivers a hearty new serving of all that and more! Could a piece of DLC be one of 2022’s best Switch games? Just as punishing yet endearing as ever, The Delicious Last Course could be exactly that.
Last up, the gang pursues one of life’s most elusive questions: why does the N64 controller look like that? Marc and Cameron share their thoughts on the NSO member-exclusive N64 Switch controller and explore how much it can (and can’t) improve the experience of playing N64 game son Switch. In the meantime, Campbell wonders why people ever bothered with this controller to begin with. All this and, as always, so much more!
