Valve’s New Game Deadlock Footage Leaked
Gameplay footage of Valve’s upcoming game, tentatively called “Deadlock,” has leaked, offering a glimpse into what appears to be a major new title from the renowned developer. The footage reveals a 6v6 third-person shooter, previously known as “Neon Prime,” with mechanics reminiscent of popular games like Overwatch, Team Fortress 2, and Dota 2.
According to reports, “Deadlock” features a diverse roster of 19 heroes, each with unique abilities and playstyles. The leaked video shows a character navigating the map using a handrail system similar to BioShock Infinite’s Sky-Line. This traversal method adds a dynamic element to the gameplay, allowing for quick movement across the map.
Valve enthusiast Tyler McVicker claims that hundreds of people are currently playtesting the game in a closed alpha. He describes “Deadlock” as Valve’s attempt to unite their community under one game, combining elements from various successful genres. The game has been in development since 2018 and features tower defense mechanics set in a fantasy world with steampunk aesthetics.

The character selection screen in the leaked footage showcases heroes like Grey Talon, a magical archer; Haze, a stealthy operative similar to Overwatch’s Sombra; Infernus, a fire-wielding pyromaniac; Lady Geist, a health-stealing specter; and a winged goblin, among others. This variety suggests a rich and strategic gameplay experience.
Valve has yet to make an official announcement, but the leaks indicate that the game’s development is well underway. Fans eagerly await more details, hoping for an official reveal soon.
