Singularity 6 Cuts 35% of Workforce
In a move that has stirred the gaming community, Singularity 6, the creators of the cozy life simulation game Palia, has announced a significant reduction in their workforce. The developer confirmed that 35% of its staff, which translates to just under 50 talented individuals, have been laid off.
This decision follows closely on the heels of Palia’s launch on Steam last March, and its introduction to the Nintendo Switch in December. Singularity 6 explained the layoffs as a necessary step to ensure the long-term stability and quality of Palia, aiming to maintain the high level of service their players expect.
In their statement, the company expressed deep gratitude for the contributions of the affected team members. Singularity 6 has pledged to support those laid off through this transition by providing severance pay, assistance in job placement, career guidance, and allowing them to retain company-provided development equipment.

Despite the challenges, Singularity 6 remains dedicated to its vision. They promise to continue bringing creativity and passion to Palia, striving to meet and exceed community expectations.

Currently, Palia is facing mixed reviews on Steam, with players citing issues related to bugs and the pricing of cosmetic items. Nevertheless, the game is available for both PC and Switch players, who eagerly await future updates and improvements.
Singularity 6’s commitment to Palia and its community remains unwavering, as they navigate through these challenging times, emphasizing their focus on delivering quality and engaging experiences to their players.
