Top Stardew Valley tips to make your life easier

Stardew Valley is one of these rare games that unites both hardcore gamers and newbies. With ConcernedApe not ruling out the possibility of future updates, there is seemingly no end to the treasure trove that is Stardew Valley. And that gem of a farming simulator keeps attracting new fans. So, if you’ve just settled into the valley, here are some tips to get you started.
Crops are invaluable in the early game
On your first day, you will receive a farming starter pack containing 15 turnip seeds. The only exception to that rule is if you pick the meadowlands farm type, which comes with 15 pieces of hay and two chickens by default. Whatever your grand plans are as a farmer, it is advisable to start planting crops right away. All you need is to clear 15 patches of soil, plant the seeds, and water each tile.
Turnips take only 4 days to grow. You can rack in 525g by selling all 15 of them. Even if money is tight, we recommend you invest in more seeds instead of wasting money on accessories. Cauliflower seeds are quite costly, but they’re worth 175g a piece. You may also buy potatoes at Pierre’s, which often yield an extra tater when harvested. As you steadily make bank, you’ll come into summer all set and ready to go all out for super-profitable crops like melons.
Chop as much wood as possible
Once you’ve watered your crops, you’ll notice that your energy has plummeted. With the little stamina left, focus on chopping down trees to stockpile wood, which is an essential part of many buildings and items. You can use acorns, pine cones, and maple seeds to plant new trees in tillable grounds inside or outside your farm.
Conversely, you may keep them in storage chests to use in recipes like field snacks, which might come in handy when exploring the mines. Unless you’re desperate for quick cash, do not put wood in your shipping box. You’ll find that reaching 300 pieces of wood to repair the bridge on the easternmost corner of the beach is way more profitable, as it allows you to forage high-priced items like sea urchins and corals.
Be aware that all friendships don’t last forever
Befriending the locals of Pelican Town unlocks cooking recipes and triggers cutscenes as your level of friendship grows. Thinking that friendships do not evolve over time is one common rookie mistake in Stardew Valley, though. You may lose hearts with each person if you do not speak to them daily.
There is a silver lining as friendship points won’t go down once you reach ten hearts with a regular NPC. This scale goes down to eight hearts for marriage candidates. The best way to max out friendship is to consistently offer your neighbors gifts they love, especially on their birthday. Keep your Stardew Valley Wiki tab open to know the villagers’ likes and dislikes.
Know that secrets await at every corner
Stardew Valley is famously known for its wealth of Easter Eggs. The more time you spend in the valley, the more likely you might stumble upon a mysterious NPC or a life-changing shortcut. Every portion of the map has secrets, so don’t hesitate to roam around the valley, dropping items where they supposedly don’t belong and digging every spot for secret notes or artifacts. As you trek the Cindersap Forest, you’ll encounter strange creatures sending you out on cryptic quests.
Once you’ve mended the bus, you may head to the desert to locate a challenging cavern – and even a hidden casino boasting machine slots. If you’ve enjoyed the ride, there are plenty more slots to try online. From Cheerful Farmer to Farm Bingo, many have a Stardew-like vibe. Players can grab free spins to test these games risk-free. Such bonuses are available to newcomers as daily or monthly schemes. They can also be redeemed by participating in slot tournaments. Free tips and guidelines can be found online to get the most out of these deals.
Stardew Valley is possibly the best farming sim to date, and you’re probably going sink hundreds of hours into reaching the bottom of the mine, expanding your home, or finding the best spots to catch fish. The good news is, there is no need to rush as you can discover every facet of life in the valley organically. Still, some tips and tricks can make your progression much smoother.
I hope this helps and you enjoyed the read. Keep gaming 😉
