Manga Meets Esports: Aka Akasaka Unveils Two New Manga with Crazy Raccoon
Can you imagine a manga inspired by an esports team? Well, if this sounds interesting, this news might make you jump for joy because one of the most renowned mangaka is diving into not one, but two of his projects in collaboration with the well-known esports powerhouse, Crazy Raccoon.
They’re a popular esports group in Japan, and now you can see their charismatic demeanor in Aka Akasaka’s two new manga titles, CRBR – Crazy Raccoon Battle Royale and Karubi Momareru.
“Esports is about passion, tension, and community. Manga has the same heartbeat. With Crazy Raccoon, I want to capture both worlds in one story,” Aka Akasaka said during the announcement.
Two Titles, Two Different Worlds:
1. CRBR – Crazy Raccoon Battle Royale

This high-paced battle-royale shōnen manga portrays the story of a shut-in gamer who has lost his brother. He soon discovers a mysterious invitation that pulls him into a lethal game run by Crazy Raccoon themselves.
The story is written by Akasaka with composition by Hiromono and illustrated by Andou and the plot suggests it’s going to be a power pack ride where survival is just the beginning of the journey of our hero.
2. Karubi Momareru

On the other side, we are getting another title, Karubi Momareru that portrays a lighthearted, heavy on comedy based on Crazy Raccoon’s V-tuber Akami Karubi.
It is co-created by Akasaka and Shiromanta popularly known from beloved shoujo title My Senpai Is Annoying, the manga blends slice-of-life humor with over-the-top antics, that balances perfectly with CRBR’s intense action.
Why This Collaboration Matters:

Authenticity in Gaming:
Akasaka isn’t new to the esports world. He has been actively playing Apex Legends and even participated in Crazy Raccoon’s Apex tournaments, which adds a genuine and impactful emotion to his storytelling.
A Creative Marathon:
Alongside these two title announcements, Akasaka is already in the process of publishing Märchen Crown, a fantasy manga that is going to come out in March 2025.So as per now, he is juggling between three projects at once.
This showcases his love and compassion for his work and indirectly we can also feel that through by reading his masterpieces.
Accessible to Fans Everywhere:
Both the title, CRBR and Karubi Momareru, is currently available on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket and Ichijinsha’s Comic Howl, and you can access it anytime, anywhere at comfort your house.
Final Thoughts:

By combining the world of esports with manga artistry, Aka Akasaka is presenting a new form of storytelling that will truly connect through today’s audience.
Whether you are looking for an intense battle royale type story or just chill with some comedy scenes, you have both options to choose from.
