Will GTA 6 Have a Casino? Here’s What We Know So Far
Few games are subject to more excitement and speculation than GTA. Rockstar Games has announced that GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19th. Of course, fans will take that promise with a pinch of salt, considering the developer’s track record. GTA 6’s release has already been delayed twice.
The first delay came when Rockstar pushed the game’s release from Fall 2025 to May 2026, citing the need for extra development and testing. Rockstar has since given itself a generous deadline extension, promising that the game will be perfectly polished on release. With less than 300 days to go until release, fans are more than a little skeptical, having been burned before.
Rockstar would be pushing it if they were to delay the launch into 2027, although only time will tell. The developer has a history of prioritizing polish over deadlines, and it is a strategy that has so far paid off. When GTA 5 came out in 2013, it was hailed as one of the most successful games ever made, and it has since generated more than $8 billion in revenue.
Thirteen years on, six months additional delay seems a small price to pay in the grander scheme of things. Rumors are rife as to what the game will include, although we have a few details confirmed. Players will follow Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos as they roam the streets of Vice City. The Bonnie and Clyde-style duo have a tumultuous relationship that could land both in hot water.
As in GTA 5, players can switch between characters. The character selections also offer players the opportunity to play as both protagonists simultaneously during robberies. Rockstar promises players the most immersive in-world experience to date, with the biggest GTA map ever and more than 157 enterable interiors. This means that players could be able to access 60% or more of the game’s buildings.
That fact begs a question that has been on many fans’ lips since GTA 6 was first announced. Will the latest iteration of the game include a casino? The answer to that is almost certainly, yes. Considering the popularity of the casino features that GTA has dabbled with so far, it’s highly likely that playable casino experiences will return.
Looking at what has already been leaked about GTA 6, players should be able to enjoy an even more immersive, realistic, and dynamic casino offering than has been offered before. This could include an extensive selection of games like poker, blackjack, roulette, and slots. The Vice City setting, with its shining neon lights, is a natural fit for a glamorous casino.
Casinos have already proved popular features in the GTA universe. GTA: San Andreas featured thirteen casinos located around Las Venturas, three of which were accessible to Carl Johnson to gamble at. Players could borrow money at the casino, but failing to repay led to unwanted repercussions.
GTA 5 Online has taken this further, featuring the Diamond Casino & Resort, the backdrop for a number of heists and missions. Players can also gamble using in-game chips. Several playable slot machines are included, as well as roulette, and table games like three-card poker and blackjack. Chips can be wagered on virtual horse racing, and players can try their hand at the Lucky Wheel.
Players need to purchase a standard membership from Tom Connors for $500 if they want to try out these casino offerings. Those who own the Master Penthouse are upgraded to VIP membership, which comes with perks like access to a limousine and aircraft concierge.
The Lucky Wheel is a particularly neat feature that players can spin once a day for the chance to win money, chips, clothing from the casino store, a podium vehicle, and more. Attention has also been paid to the design of the slot machines, which have varying deposit limits and payouts. The slots are all a little tongue-in-cheek, with names like ‘Impotent Rage’ and ‘Republican Space Rangers’.
Rockstar has built its reputation on this blend of humor and immersive interactivity, and it’s hard to imagine GTA 6 not building on the success of its previous casino features. From what we know so far, which is speculative, we can say that the return of a casino is highly probable. Leaked footage seems to indicate the inclusion of glamorous interiors with slot machines and card tables.
Eagle-eyed gamers also spotted a job posting advertised at Rockstar that called for applicants with experience in developing artificial intelligence behavior and gambling mechanics. While those skills could be needed for further development of the Diamond Casino already available online, it may also indicate that GTA 6 will include its own interactive casino setting.
We can also take an educated guess at how Rockstar would use tech innovations to elevate a potential casino in GTA 6. Firstly, we wouldn’t be too surprised to see a bigger and more interactive casino than ever before. The studio doesn’t do things by halves, and with a flagship game like this it is likely to pull out all the stops.
AI could be used to enhance interactions between players and dealers, making for a more responsive and personal gaming experience. It would be fun to see tie-ins with real-time social events and tournaments. We might also see more in-depth features, like those used by online casinos, such as loyalty programs, bonuses, and cashback.
We are now seeing a real crossover beginning to emerge between gaming and online casinos. Operators are savvy to this and are increasingly utilizing gamification and social features to attract a younger cadre of players. For those who want to dip their toes into the world of real-money online casinos, reading Casino.org’s top 10 casino bonuses, news about the latest games, and guidance on spotting scams is really useful. Similarly, gaming features like loot boxes, in-game currencies, and collectibles add a layer of mystery and chance similar to gambling.
At the heart of GTA has always been the opportunity for players to smash and grab their way across the city using any means necessary. For a game that is essentially all about lawlessness, it is interesting that the launch of the Diamond Casino in 2019 caused such a stir. Laws around gambling vary hugely around the world, meaning that players in some countries have restricted access to GTA 5 Online’s casino features.
It will be interesting to see how Rockstar navigates these issues if it does indeed add more gambling mechanics to its future release. Provided the distinction between in-game currency and real-world cash is kept separate, Rockstar should have few problems in offering players an immersive and exciting casino to explore.
