Ratchet and Clank 2016 Gets an Update After Eight Years
Eight years following its initial release, the 2016 PlayStation 4 version of Ratchet and Clank has received a new update. This update brings a much-loved feature to all its players: the Bouncer weapon. Originally available only as a pre-order bonus, this favorite is now accessible to everyone, free of charge.
The Bouncer is a unique weapon that launches a grenade-like bomb. Upon explosion, it releases several smaller bombs that bounce around the area. If this sounds familiar, it’s because the Bouncer has appeared in various PlayStation 2 titles like Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal, as well as in the more recent PlayStation 5 release, Ratchet & Clank: A Rift Apart.

James Stevenson, the marketing director at Insomniac Games, mentioned that he has been trying to make the Bouncer available to the entire community for “half a decade.” It appears his efforts have finally paid off.
This isn’t the first time Ratchet & Clank has been updated since its release. Back in 2021, the game received another significant patch that enabled it to run at 60FPS on PlayStation 5, enhancing the gameplay experience for newer console players.
