What’s New in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3?

There’s been so much anticipation for the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, and it finally happened on April 3rd, 2024. Players are pretty much excited about the new content this season and even more excited about the connection between MW3, Warzone, and Warzone Mobile. This integration promises to take the gaming experience to a whole new level, and fans can’t wait to see how it all works together. So far since the release of the game, players have been sharing their feedback, complaints, and questions on the Modern Warfare III Reddit subthread. Many are wondering if the game is worth the investment and if it lives up to the hype. Let’s find out.  

There Are New Game Modes

This new season has four new game modes for its Multiplayer. Escort, Minefield, One in the Chamber, and Capture the Flag. Out of these four, three were made available at launch, and Minefield will be a variation that will be available in Hardpoint, Domination, and Kill Confirmed. Plus most of these game modes are easy to understand, especially for experienced COD players. 

New Maps, Perks, and Equipment

Season 3 has six new Core 6v6 maps with four being available at the moment. Tanked, Growhouse and 6 Star Emergency are available while Grime and Checkpoint will be ready in the mid-season update. 

Players are enjoying the new Perks and equipment that were initially released. This includes a new pair of boots, three new Perk Vests, and new gear. Among the gear is a High-Gain Antenna which zooms out of the minimap, and picks up nearby enemies, allies, and other things. Also, there is a new Tactical called the EMD mine which will be available in the midseason update.  

For the Perk Vests, players are given the Gunslinger Vest which makes them a Secondary Weapon specialist with no Primary Weapon slot and only two Secondary Weapons for their loadout. With this, they are certain of improved reload speed, refresh stamina, reload while printing, and increased weapon swap speed. Most players on the subreddit post were not impressed by this because they have to use their Secondary Weapons to get all these benefits.

Another vest that was made available at the launch is the new Modular Assault Rig Vest. Gamers can now resupply Lethals and Tacticals from dead players and start a play with maximum Reserve Ammo with this vest. Additionally, a new Compression Carrier Vest has been added, which is designed for support-focused benefits. Players can immediately regenerate their health after a kill or objective capture and experience fewer side effects from gas grenades.

Finally, the new boots are called Reinforced Boots. These boots provide immunity to movement-reducing effects such as stun grenade effects. 

Zombies Are Back

A new Dark Aether story update is part of the initial release. In this update, players will embark on a rescue mission for Dr. Jansen, and venture into a new part of the Dark Aether to progress the story. 

Now, players can enter a third Dark Aether Rift by finding and attuning different relics across the map. Inside the rift, players can loot classified schematics and secrets. The new Schematics include Dead Wire Detonators, Golden Mask Filter, and the Sergeant’s Beret, which offer unique perks to players. In addition, there are new Prestige Calling Card Challenges and Camo Challenges.

Shiny New Weapons

In this new season, there are new weapons to unlock. Multiplayer and Warzone have four new weapons: BAL-27, Gladiator, MORS, and FJX Horus. The FJX Horus Submachine Gun is now available in Sector 8, while the MORS Sniper Rifle can be unlocked in Sector 4. For those who prefer close combat, the Gladiator Melee weapon is waiting to be claimed in Sector 15. And that’s not all – the mid-season update will bring the Bal-27 Assault Rifle, so stay tuned for that.

Updates on Warzone PC, Laptop & Mobile 

• Warzone squads playing together will be granted more XP and rewards like Cash bonuses and Supply UAVs.
• Rebirth Island is back and has been updated with new POIs and buildings.
• Biometric Scanners in the communications facilities can grant players Keycards that unlock a special menu in the Rebirth Island Buy Station.
• Rebirth Resurgence, Rebirth Resurgence Loaded, and Rebirth Lockdown are new modes available on Rebirth Island.
• Airstrikes may take out various locations via an Infill Strike during matches on Rebirth Island.
• In the Gulag, players can choose to not fight to the death and instead climb ladders to the roof to both achieve redeployment.
• New equipment for Rebirth Island includes Squad Rage, Foresight Killstreak, and Specialist Perk.
• Rebirth Island also features a new Weapon Trade System during Season 3.

Finally, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is available on  PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile.
