NXpress Nintendo Podcast 206: ‘Hades,’ ‘Spiritfarer’ and ‘Short Hike’

This week on the NXpress Nintendo Podcast, the Goomba Stomp team catches up on some indie games we haven’t yet had a chance to discuss on the show. In the opening segment, we review Spiritfarer, the cozy management game about dying as well as Shantae: Risky’s Revenge, a bite-sized adventure packed with charm and action, that is just as fun today as it was a decade ago. Closing out the opening spot is a quick review of Raji: An Ancient Epic, a fresh take on the now saturated action/adventure genre.

In the main event, we finally get around to reviewing Hades from Supergiant Games— a game that many critics are calling one of the best of the year. And last but not least, we set aside some time to talk about A Short Hike, a charming title all about soaking up the joy of nature, interactions, and the discoveries they lead to.

Finally, in our closing spot, we debate physical media versus digital. Joining the show this week is guest hosts Marty Allen, Campbell Gill and Cameron Daxon. You can listen to our show on StitcheriTunesPodbean, or simply click the play button below. Enjoy!

The NXpress is a weekly podcast hosted at NXpresspodcast.com in which we discuss all things Nintendo. We stay clear from in-depth game strategies and keep things light. There’s plenty of nostalgia and feedback that will resonate with vintage game collectors; meanwhile modern games are sprinkled in and each week our show revolves around a central theme.
