If you want to Free Shadowheart from the Mind Flayer pod in Baldur’s Gate 3 you just have to follow these simple step:
1. First you need to check out the console next to Shadowheart’s pod. There will be a space where you can put something in it.
2. Then go to the room located east of Shadowheart’s room by passing through the Sphincter.
3. Soon you will discover another pod like Shadowheart’s with a figure inside. Just walk past it to the other end of the room.
4. Then, next to the Cartilaginous Chest, you will see “Dead Thrall.” Look on their body to find an Eldritch Rune.
5. After finding her, take the Rune back to Shadowheart’s console and choose “Insert the Rune into the Socket,” then “Place Your Hand on the Console.”
6. After doing the task you may feel something in your head. Then you just need to choose “Illithid (Wisdom): Will the pod open.”
7. Lastly, after doing all the steps the pod will open, and Shadowheart will be free and yes she will join your party for the rest of the Nautiloid tutorial area.
Some other characters like Wizards or those good with magic will try to hack your console without the Rune, but don’t worry because you can still use the Parasite.
So, rescuing Shadowheart will definitely be a good option for you because she can be a big help in the upcoming fight.
