God of War Creator Criticizes Concord’s Character Designs
David Jaffe, the God of War creator, recently shared his thoughts on Concord, a new game by Firewalk Studios. Jaffe played the game’s open beta, which has received mixed reactions. He expressed strong criticism towards the game’s character designs, calling them a “disaster.”
Jaffe’s harsh words on X/Twitter reflected his disappointment. He found the characters generic and uninspired, akin to someone hitting the randomize button in a character creator. This sentiment is echoed by many players who share his opinion. Despite this, Jaffe did praise the gameplay, describing it as “really fun.”
Concord is PlayStation’s latest live service title, but it has struggled to gain traction. With a peak of around 3,000 players during its open beta, interest quickly dwindled. The game has faced criticism for offering a standard multiplayer experience without introducing anything new or exciting.

Fans have compared Concord to other popular games like Overwatch and Guardians of the Galaxy, noting its lack of a unique identity. As a significant release for Sony, the game’s early reception is concerning. Live service titles often face challenges, and Concord seems to have more hurdles than most.
