What makes a good Genshin Impact team in 2026?
Ever since Lunar reactions were introduced, the meta in Genshin Impact has shifted dramatically. Melt and Vaporize teams took a bit of a hit when Lunar reactions became a thing. While Genshin’s power creep isn’t as severe as some other gacha games, players have definitely felt the impact. Premium Lunar teams like Nefer, Zibai and Flins teams benefit from a higher damage output due to their kit, and the consistent combat-shill mechanics in the Spiral Abyss gave them a clear edge over older setups. In addition to that, Columbina’s release in version 6.3 pushed these teams further, cementing their dominance in the current meta. That said, units released before Lunar units like Mavuika and Skirk still manage to hold their ground, and remain viable options.
Top Genshin Impact Teams for March 2026
Meet the top 5 teams of March 2026. Continue reading to figure out the best Genshin team comps, and why they deserve the spot.
Nefer Lunarbloom team
Kicking off the list is the Nod-Krai Lunarbloom team. With Version 6.0 of Genshin Impact introducing Lunar reactions, this archetype quickly rose to dominate the meta, and this Nefer team stands out as one of its strongest variations.
Lauma, Columbina, and Nahida provide consistent off-field Dendro and Hydro application while contributing valuable buffs and debuffs. This setup allows Nefer to stay on-field and fully capitalize on her charged attacks, dishing out massive Dendro and Lunar Bloom damage.
As a glass cannon composition, the team trades survivability for an extremely high damage ceiling. When executed properly, this team can deliver some of the most explosive performances in the game.
Zibai Lunar-crystallize team
The cooler twist on Crystallize is here in the form of Lunar-Crystallize, a reaction where Zibai’s team works around.
To fully enable her damage, the team slots in Illuga, who provides valuable Geo and Lunar-Crystallize buffs through Nightingale’s Song stacks. Gorou, offering strong DEF buffs that directly scale Zibai’s damage. Meanwhile, Columbina rounds out the lineup with reliable Hydro application and additional Lunar reaction bonuses.
When Linnea arrives in 6.5, she is set to become Zibai’s premier support, expected to elevate her damage to another level through Lunar-Crystallize resistance shred.
Flins Lunar-charged team
The Flins and Ineffa duo has consistently delivered incredible damage since release, and it only went up a notch with Columbina’s arrival.
Between Flins’ sustained damage, Ineffa and Columbina’s buffs, sustain, and personal output, and Sucrose’s crowd control and EM boost, this Lunar-Charged lineup continues to hold its place at the top of the meta.
Mavuika Melt team
The Mavuika genshin impact team proves that Melt comps aren’t giving up their spot in the limelight anytime soon. This hypercarry setup doubles Mavuika’s damage through Melt, then pushes it even further with Citlali’s Cryo application and Pyro shred, Xilonen’s resistance shred, and Bennett’s ATK boost.
It can also take advantage of the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City set effects, adding even more value to the lineup. On top of that, all three supports provide shields and healing, making the team extremely durable, borderline unkillable in most scenarios.
Skirk Melt team
Over the years, Cryo has often been considered one of the weaker elements, but that perception has shifted since Skirk’s release. Up to now, she has proven that Cryo still has a place in the meta. Skirk is a dual-playstyle Freeze DPS who can function either as an on-field hypercarry or a burst-oriented quickswap unit.
She deals monstrous damage, especially when paired with Escoffier, Furina, and Shenhe. Escoffier and Shenhe act as powerful Cryo supports, amplifying Skirk’s damage through Cryo debuffs and Icy Quills. Meanwhile, Furina provides consistent off-field Hydro application to maintain Freeze uptime. The Hydro Archon also contributes significant personal damage and grants teamwide Fanfare damage buffs, which Escoffier can help sustain through her healing.
Best Genshin Impact F2P Teams (March 2026)
If you’re a free-to-play player, do not lose hope. Genshin Impact has impressive four-star units whose kit meshes well together, and could even compete with expensive and premium teams. Here are all of the best free-to-play-friendly genshin team comps.
F2P Hyperbloom setup
Building a hyperbloom team is one of the easiest way to gain access to massive damage, and the best part is it’s cheap and easy to build. All you have to do is to bring Hydro and Dendro units to generate dendro cores, and an electro trigger to proc Hyperbloom. Luckily, there are many four-units that you can use in this setup.
Dendro MC, Xingqiu, Collei and Kuki Shinobu team is a good example. A combination of Dendro MC, Xingqiu, and Collei’s burst continuously give birth to dendro cores. Through Kuki Shinobu’s elemental skill, she can detonate these dendro cores via hyperbloom to deal high single target damage.
F2P Overload Team
This F2P overload team features 4-star exclusive Chevreuse team. Provided you’re in a team with only Pyro and Electro team, this team can perform really well.
Chevreuse offers Electro and Pyro resistance shred, making her a good teammate for units like Fischl and Xiangling. Both of these units can apply respective personal damage, and can do so off-field. All these three together, they trigger overload which deals explosive damage. Complete this team by adding Bennett to the team, who’ll serve as the team’s main healer.
Looking at March 2026, the strongest Genshin Impact teams aren’t just about raw damage—they’re about how well characters click together. With the right composition and execution, these units can handle most of the heavy lifting, whether players are running a premium all 5-star lineup or a fully F2P-friendly team.
