Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Underperforms, Warner Bros Acknowledges
Warner Bros’ latest game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, did not hit the mark it aimed for. During a recent earnings call, the company’s CFO, Gunnar Wiedenfels, shared that the game didn’t meet their high hopes. This was a big deal since it was one of their main releases for 2024. The game’s performance has set a challenging stage for Warner Bros’ gaming sector, especially when compared to last year’s success with Hogwarts Legacy.
The game’s struggle isn’t a shock to many. Early previews and delays had already dampened excitement. Plus, the choice to include microtransactions and make it an online-only game didn’t sit well with fans.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League serves as a continuation of the Batman: Arkham series. Available on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S, it picks up five years after Batman: Arkham Knight. The game centers on the Suicide Squad, tasked with a daunting mission to stop the alien Brainiac and take down the Justice League. Players can explore Metropolis, either alone or with friends, through its open-world design.

Despite its innovative storyline and connection to the beloved Arkham series, the game couldn’t escape the shadow of its pre-launch controversies. Warner Bros had high hopes for this title, but it seems the blend of early criticism and gameplay decisions ultimately led to its underwhelming reception.
