The indie classic Untitled Goose Game, from developers House House, took the world- and by world I mostly mean internet- by storm when it was released in September 2019. The memes came thick and fast following the games debut, with the goose based gameplay and general objective of causing as many minor inconveniences as possible really striking a chord with gamers. There was even a fan made Desktop Goose – an annoyance that would occasionally gift you goose related memes and steal your mouse. So what could possibly be more fun than wreaking a bit of mischievous havoc as a mildly disgruntled goose? Grabbing a friend and causing double the trouble as a pair of disgruntled geese.
The game will be getting a free update on September 23rd which will allow for local co-op between two players. The co-op will allow two players to run rampant upon the peaceful villagers in the game, causing twice as much grievance in the process. The free update will be out just before a physical version of the game is set to release for the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch on September 29th. So prepare yourself for double the honk when the update releases next month.
Could this be the start of more new content for Untitled Goose Game? Perhaps some new areas to explore and cause trouble in could be on the horizon. With the massive popularity of the game (it even won the D.I.C.E Game of the Year award amongst other accolades) and viral attention it received, it seems likely that Untitled Goose Game will be providing content for a while to come. Maybe even a whole squad of irritating geese? We can only hope.
