The TV Roundtable Podcast Episode 2: Holding the Bone As the Meat Falls Off

Published

on

It’s the second week of The TV Roundtable‘s glorious return to the airwaves, and an episode dedicated to discussing two shows – Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and NBC’s Great News – that spirals into a wide-ranging discussion of comedy series in the 21st century. What begins as an examination of the Tina Fey aesthetic, transforms into a celebration of low-scale comedy, a longing for the return of the workplace sitcom, and a deep dive into the morals and emotional goals of great comedy series. Enjoy!

(note: this episode was recorded before game 4 of the NBA finals and during the UK general election… enjoy our horrific amateur prognostications on both as a special treat!)

In true Smash fashion, however, having picked four characters each, each Game Boy has to fight for their character selections to be part of the collective six character roster. Ready? Go!
