The First “Premium” Licensed Poké Ball Is Releasing Next Year

by Antonia Haynes

UK based gizmo company The Wand Company are going to be adding to their already extensive list of pop culture based prop replicas. Having worked on items such as the Star Trek Bluetooth communicator, the Fallout Pip-Boy kit and the Sonic Screwdriver from Doctor Who, The Wand Company can now add the Pokémon franchise to that with their “Premium” Poké Ball replica.

The Poké Ball definitely looks the part, coming in a display case and including proximity sensing, touch sensing and a die-cast metal shell. The button of the Poké Ball also lights up, much like in the games when a trainer catches a Pokémon. Unfortunately, it doesn’t open but it’s still pretty impressive. Just definitely do not throw it. It’s not a toy! The Poké Ball replica is available to pre-order now and is set to be released on February 27th 2021, the next Pokémon day. For more information- such as how much the replica will cost (it’s is quite pricey, I warn you)- have a look at the official website here.
