The Fan made Sequel to Ed, Edd n Eddy Peach Creek – Is Looking Hugely Promising

You should know by now that I am a huge advocate and promoter of brilliant fan made content and today, we are looking at an unofficial project that has been in the works for a while. Ed, Edd n Eddy was a Cartoon Network show that ran for almost a decade back in the day, from 1999 to 2008. The animated series became something of a cult classic thanks to its irreverent humour and every day antics of the three titular protagonists. It was also beloved by kids everywhere at the time- myself included- with many wanting to see the characters return to the screen one day. George Abingdon- YouTube creator, animator and writer- decided to take this idea and make it a reality with his unofficial sequel to the show.

The project- called Peach Creek after the cul-de-sac where Ed, Edd and Eddy live in the show- is a fan made adult web series that is still in development and will be set when the characters- who were kids in the original- are now in their last year of high school. The show is looking awesome from what Abingdon has shown off so far. There has been a few clips released, some mini-sodes and a teaser trailer- released around a year ago- and all of them are looking super promising in terms of animation and the glimpses of the story that we can glean from them. It has the look and the general vibe of an Adult Swim cartoon whilst still being true to the original show. The character designs- for example- are perfect, replicating the art style of the show but with an added maturity.

Here is the description of Peach Creek from Abingdon’s Patreon, which I will link here:

Peach Creek is an fan-made adult web series, focusing on the final year of high school for the characters from Ed, Edd n Eddy. Inspired by shows such as Bojack Horseman and Rick & Morty, Peach Creek is both a love letter to and direct continuation of Ed Edd n Eddy, and a deeper look into characters’ psyches.

Set in their final year of High School, life has changed so much for the Eds and the rest of the gang. Lives change and intermingle, people grow. The Eds come to realize that not everyone who you grow up with will be there in the future. Ed deals with his past and present; Edd begins to open up his boundaries; and Eddy… Is still Eddy.

As a fan of the show and someone who grew up the original series, I find this such a cool idea and I can’t wait to see the finished product when the first episode (12 are planned but only one is in development currently) releases. Make sure to check out Peach Creek on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram and help to contribute to the project, head to his Patreon linked above.
