Official Mod Tools Have Arrived for Cyberpunk 2077

by Antonia Haynes

It’s been a long and incredibly bumpy road for CD Projekt Red and their dystopian sci-fi role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077. Despite the controversies, the disappointments, and the lawsuits, the game seems to be improving, with CD Projekt Red continuing to work on the game post-release. One of these new additions is an official set of modding resources that have recently been released for the game by CD Projekt Red.

There have been plenty of fantastic fan-made mods for Cyberpunk 2077 already (Nexus Mods is- as always- a bountiful hub of incredible fan mods) but having an official set of tools to aid with these mods is sure to be a positive for those who spend a fair amount of time making alterations to the game. The modding support tools include ways to see the game files and data- such as TweakDump, ArchiveDump, and Metadata- as well as TweakDB ID’s. These are all the mod kit includes at the moment but the official CD Projekt Red web page about the modding support tools- which I will link here– does state that “Tools will be continuously updated alongside with game patches to ensure compatibility”. Hopefully, the mod kit will get a little more depth soon but in the meantime, why not check out the mod where you can romance Keanu Reeves’s character? Seriously, why was that not a thing in the official game release? Let us smooch Keanu, damn it.
