DeepFake YouTuber Imagines How the Original Black Widow Actress Would Fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Not too long ago, I discussed a deep fake video created by a YouTuber called Shamook. In the video, Shamook uses the deep fake technology to imagine what Alden Ehrenreich’s young Han Solo would look like as the original actor Harrison Ford. The result is an eerie yet hugely impressive and Shamook’s latest video is even more so.

Johansson’s Natasha really came into her own in the first Avengers film.

Everyone and their grandmother has heard of Marvel and are likely to at least know of one or two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. One of the Marvel characters that has attracted a lot of recent attention is Natasha Romanoff/ Black Widow, played by Scarlett Johansson. Johansson’s solo film- starring as Black Widow- was meant to come out in April 2020 but due to the whole global pandemic problem, it has been pushed back to November 2020. Whether that release will actually happen is yet to be seen but I’m crossing my fingers. Black Widow made her debut back in 2009 in Iron Man 2, but Johansson was not actually the first choice for the role. Actress Emily Blunt- known for her roles in films such as The Devil Wears Prada, Edge of Tomorrow and A Quiet Place– was initially chosen to play Romanoff by Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau. However, when Blunt had a clash of commitments with Twentieth Century Fox, Favreau cast Scarlett instead.

The future of the Black Widow movie is uncertain. Will we get a cinematic release or a Disney Plus Premium Access release?

It is hard to imagine what such an established character would look like with a different actress but that is exactly what Shamook has done here. The YouTuber has taken clips from various films that prominently feature Romanoff- such as Iron Man 2, Avengers: Endgame and Captain America: The Winter Soldier- and deep faked Blunt over the top of Johansson’s face to see what could have been had Blunt been able to take on the part. It’s a little creepy and whilst it is still difficult to see anyone else playing Black Widow, you can certainly see how Favreau could have envisioned Blunt in the role. Shamook has some insane skill when it comes to their deep fakes so I would highly suggest checking out their channel. Check out the Black Widow deep fake below.
