‘Legend of Zelda’ TV show intro in the style of ‘Game of Thrones’

Remember that story about Netflix working on a live-action Zelda series? It had many people pretty excited – but as expected, none of it was true. Speaking to Time, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata squashed every rumour saying, “As of now, I have nothing new to share with you in regard to the use of our IPs for any TV shows or films, but I can at least confirm that the article in question is not based on correct information.” Of course, those comments stopped short of saying the series isn’t happening – just that the information is incorrect. We can only hope…

In the meantime, a small team of video editors took the opening of HBO’s Game of Thrones and used it as an inspiration for an opening to a Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past. It might only be a short intro, but the video really does prove that if ever there was a time to make a series based on Nintendo’s biggest franchise, now is the time. Watch the video below, and be sure to check out this article, detailing what we would want from a Zelda TV show. Enjoy!
