Gamers Are Getting Creative With the Insanely Varied Mii Character Creator in the Miitopia Demo

Yesterday- April 28th– Nintendo dropped a free demo for the upcoming Miitopia game which is be re-released on the Nintendo Switch on May 21st. One of the most interesting elements of the game is the character creator tools due to its absolutely massive array of options to design the look of your Mii. In fact, there is so much possibility with this character creator that gamers across the Internet have taken quite the shine to it. You can see where I’m going with this, right? I spent a fair amount of time last night and this morning scrolling through Twitter to find some of the most impressive creations from Miitopia out there and the results are as hilarious as they are remarkably creative. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of my finds.

Fair warning: there were so many Mii’s that I really liked so there will be quite a lot of them in this blog. I’ll be crediting each and every creator so make sure to go to their Twitter for more information and if you want to download the Mii for yourself. Let’s go y’all.

First up, we have JFK from the animated show Clone High. This is chef’s kiss level of perfection. Thank you @JimmyDoor74 for creating this fabulous specimen for our enjoyment. We are not worthy.

@mitsamemario has been hard at work when it comes to creating Mii’s on Miitopia. The Twitter user posted every Mii that they have made since the demo dropped (literally only yesterday, don’t forget) and the results are crazily good. From Mario to Sonic the Hedgehog to Peter Griffin, Bowser, Aerith from Final Fantasy VII and even a crewmate from Among Us, @mitsamemario has amazingly managed to capture all of these characters to a tee with their Mii’s. I think I speak for all of us when I say bravo to you! Make sure to check out the Tweet on Twitter for the access code to download these beauties for yourself.

@Da_Nintendude also made a compilation of their Mii’s that they have created on the demo. There are a lot of awesome Mario based Mii’s but also some other characters too. @Da_Nintendude actually comments saying that they spent so much time making these that they didn’t even get to play the game. Well to that I say, it was certainly time well spent! These are seriously fantastic.

If you are up to speed on your Sonic the Hedgehog memes (see what I did there?) then you are probably aware of the “Tails Gets Trolled” meme which originated from a Deviantart web comic back in 2011. Let’s be honest, that is definitely not the weirdest thing to come out of the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom but that is a rabbit hole that I am well and truly refusing to fall down right now. As I was saying, this “Tails Gets Trolled” comic went viral for its fantastically crude drawing of Tails the Fox from the Sonic games and the shocked and appalled facial expression that he has (courtesy of LazerBot on DeviantArt who is still active today). Well, this expression has now made its way into Miitopia. I actually found two versions of the “Tails Gets Trolled” face. The first comes from @yampidimp who amazingly captures that absolute look of anger and offence down to a tee.

The next comes from @ItIsIWeeg and it’s also a fantastic representation, though Tails looks more like he has seen things- terrible, unforgiveable things- rather than angered. Either way, they are both amazing takes on the meme so thanks @yampidimp and @ItiIsIWeeg for this incredible work.

@WavePrism_ acknowledges that their Homer Simpsons Mii is a tad on the scary side with this Tweet. Scarily good, am I right?? Okay, it is a little bit generally scary too but I digress. This is super cool, so simple and yet so accurate. Mii Homer is love, Mii Homer is life.

Geese Howard from the Fatal Fury fighting series is the next to get a Mii makeover. What I love about this one is how on point that expression is. Perfection is a word thrown around a lot these days but this…perfection. Shoutout to @The_Tellis for this.

I think most fans of The Legend of Zelda series would rather forget those painful animations and character designs from those CD-i games back in the 90’s but @Funfernope is forcing us to relive it once again with their incredible Mii based on that ridiculous Ganon design from those games. This is so well done that I’m not even mad that it made me remember that Ganondorf look. Who was in charge of character design for those games, seriously. Thank you for making the experience a little less painful @Funfernope.

Twitter user @ruddydud has been having a lot of fun with their Miitopia creations but it is their Minecraft Steve Mii that is bringing in tons of likes and retweets. Again, this is so well done. I’m genuinely shocked at how talented all of these players are as they perfectly recreate all these characters.

Not only did @ruddydud create a Minecraft Steve, we also see Butterfly Steve who- as the name suggests- is a Butterfly with Minecraft Steve’s face. Mojang take notes. Make this a Minecraft enemy as it is genuinely disturbing.

Butterfly Steve not enough for you? How about Rocky Rick? Rick from Rick and Morty was clearly sick of all the “Pickle Rick” memes so he turned himself into a rock instead. I mean, let’s be real here. That is definitely something that Rick from the show would do. Kudos to @NickyFretterd for this beautiful work.

Handsome Squidward, but make him a Mii. That is it. That’s the Tweet. I love you @PS1_Haggord for making this a reality.

Talking of disturbing, @healercrepe made this amazing yet kind of freaky version of Toad with and without sunglasses from the animated Mario cartoon. Like I said, I am amazed yet also a bit frightened . Brilliant work @healercrepe.

Parappa the Rapper and Um Jammy Lammy actually look stunning in three dimensional Mii forms. Thank you @jinaxxo for this. Now make them rap.

Nova- the giant, steampunk like mechanical comet from Kirby– gets an amazing Mii transformation by @Jalli128. I love the attention to detail in this one. Nova is a really difficult character to try and recreate and yet @Jalli128 makes it looks easy. @Jalli128 also makes an interesting point in their Tweet, asking if this “could be the future of Mii creation?” I certainly hope so as it means we will keep getting these insane, amazing and often bizarre fan-made creations. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

More memes being transformed into Mii’s next with this stunning take on the “Guy Eating Cereal” meme from @TheCappuccino04. I love that they made both of those iconic faces here. Amazing stuff.

@SuperstuHD creates the crossover of the century between Miitopia and Five Nights at Freddy’s with this next collection of creative creations. Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the Bunny, Chica and Foxxy get some fabulously creepy Mii looks here. Maybe don’t let the kids download this one.

*starts aggressively blasting “All-Star” by Smash Mouth* It’s Shrek time thanks to @Karjaj2. I am here for it.

@guywiththepie makes some adorable replications of the Able Sisters from Animal Crossing: New Horizons next. They are so perfect and cute and I just want to hug them and probably get a face full of quills.

Iconic characters Sam and Max are the next to get awesome recreation in Miitopia. The fact that some many people are able to create characters of all kinds- humans, animals, aliens, robots, literally anything and anyone- is a testament to how intricate this character creation system truly is. Shout out to @tksubby for creating these insanely good Sam and Max Mii’s.

Next, we have some Mii’s from @Cutiefry64. I am sucker for cute characters and @Cutiefry64 created several Mii’s that caught my eye so rather than pick one, I’m just going to post them all. Sailor Moon, Hatsune Miku, Nessa and Shelly from Pokémon Sword and Shield, Ganyu from Genshin Impact and an Inkling from Splatoon all get brilliantly adorable recreations in Mii form. Thanks @Cutiefry64, I needed this injection of sweetness in my day today.

A account for Banjo Kazooie facts- aptly named @Facts_About_BK– have created some Banjo and Kazooie Mii’s that are fabulous. Check out the Tweet below, which also includes the access code to download them yourselves in the image.

The Mayor from The Powerpuff Girls! I am in shock with this because it literally looks like it was drawn by the creator of the show themselves. How is this even possible? I am so impressed with this character creator and with the players making these Mii’s. This one comes courtesy of @Aidsiepie, shout out to you!

Last but definitely not least, @The_Ultra_Nerd shows us all how it’s done with this God tier level Mii, that just so happens to be of Mr Clean. Yes, Mr Clean. That mascot for cleaning products. There are no words here. Perfection. Absolute, stunning and beautiful perfection.

I could probably go on and on with tons of these but I think I will leave it here for today as I run the risk of creating an essay rather than an easy to read blog! I’m sure more of these will be coming up and I may consider doing a part two if I happen upon more Miitopia Mii’s that blow my mind. Until then, you can go and download the Miitopia demo for Nintendo Switch right now if you want to try out the Mii character creator for yourself.
