More amazing fan content up next with this awesome news that the 2002 Spyro The Dragon PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube game- Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly– is receiving a fan made mod within the 2018 remake of the original games, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
YouTuber and speed runner Crystal Fissure recently demonstrated the mod on his YouTube channel, although he isn’t the mastermind behind it. Twitter users InfinateXtremer and Ghostie are the ones who are working on this and it is looking pretty great so far. Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly didn’t do well with critics when it was released back in 2002 due to its various bugs and glitches, but it still has a rather dedicated fan base. It had promising level designs, but any of the positive elements of the game were outweighed by the negatives. Enter the Dragonfly also had the pressure of the success of the PlayStation One trilogy on its shoulders, which is a heavy burden for any game to carry. A well-made fan mod could give us the Enter the Dragonfly experience that we could have and should have had all those years ago. So far, the mod is looking impressive and I’m optimistic that InfinateXtremer and Ghostie can pull it off. The gaming community never ceases to amaze me with their creativity and skill, which often matches that of the game developers themselves. It makes me feel proud to be a gamer!
Have a look at both parts of the Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly mod videos that Crystal Fissure posted below and check out the Twitter accounts for the creators in the links on their usernames above. The first video also contains a fan made mod with the original Spyro and Sparx character models from the PlayStation One games, so I will link that here too.
