Fan-made trailer has Danny Devito voicing Detective Pikachu

Pikachu Detective

After fans created a petition to have actor Danny Devito provide the voice for Detective Pikachu in the newly announced game, an industrious fan has created another trailer using footage from that announcement and dubbing it with various quotes, most from Devito’s turn as Frank on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The result is surprisingly well done, and absolutely hilarious, depicting a crude, self-assured Pokémon gumshoe who teams up with a kid to basically impart his own brand of wisdom upon the world, and maybe solve some sort of case in the process.

All I know is that I was completely ambivalent to this movement until today. Now I see what people were getting at though, and am in full support seeing Devito assume this role. What do you think? Can the guy who plays Frank ever appear in a Nintendo game? Should he? You can check out the trailer for Pikachu Detective yourself below.
