Eevee Will Be Joining Pikachu at This Year’s Macy Thanksgiving Day Parade

No matter where you are from, you are likely to have heard about the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which has been a staple of the Thanksgiving celebrations in the United States since the 1920’s. The parade is known for its line of giant balloons based on various popular characters. One character that has been a part of several Macy’s Parades is Pikachu from the iconic Pokémon franchise. Pikachu is making a comeback this year but he is bringing a friend along for the ride: the cute and cuddly Eevee.

Eevee has become one of the more popular Pokémon over the last few years, more prominently since the puppy like pocket monster was one of the options as the players main Pokémon in the Pokémon: Let’s Go game from 2018 (the two options were Let’s Go Eevee and Let’s Go Pikachu). It feels like Eevee is becoming more and more popular as a Pokémon as the years go on and this inclusion of the character as part of the Pokémon Macy’s Day Parade ceremony only solidifies this popularity. I- for one- am really happy that Eevee is so popular as they have always been one of my favourites when I was growing up. I had an Eevee poster on my wall as a kid and they were up there with Pikachu, Vulpix, Growlithe and all the other adorable dog/fox like Pokémon that were always my favourites. Have a look at the Tweet from the official Pokémon Twitter account below to see what the adorable balloon will look like.
